As Captain of the Potentate's Escort Unit, I'd like to welcome you to our website.
This Unit has the privilege of escorting the Potentate of Yaarab Shrine at parades and various other functions throughout the year. Besides escorting, the Unit performs various manuevers during the parades which take a good bit of practice to safely handle those big motorcycles.
Our Unit also hosts the "Last One Out Rides" Harley Give-Away each year in August. The highlight of this event is the grand prize - a brand new Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Classic. This is one event you won't want to miss on August 20th. There will be live music, dancing, a prime rib dinner for 2, and beverages included. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are available now, and can be purchased from any noble in our unit. Hope you can join us at this event!
2011 Captain's Letter
Dear Brother Nobles,
I want to take this opportunity to sincerely THANK YOU ALL for having the faith and confidence in me and giving me the privilege to lead the most elite unit in the temple! It is an honor to have been chosen.
I will promise you that I will do my best and will always lead by example, for I know no other way. The Nobles / Officers that you have elected are by far some of the most hard-working members in this unit. Having two Past Captains, a hard working 1st LT, and an experienced, devoted Secretary is a blessing for me. I say again, thank you for electing such great men.
We, by far, are the most visible, uniformed, and professional unit in the temple. How many units can actually brag and say they have several Past Potentates, strong supporting mentors, and yet another new Potentate in waiting (Brother Ray) in just one unit! Let's make sure we go the extra mile this coming year in supporting our very own like no one has ever done before.
My Brothers, let's move forward on "2011" remaining strong, laughing hard, and having fun. Let us never forget our main mission, supporting the hospitals, our temple, and our unit. We can always be know as: "One Team - One Fight" in supporting our fraternity. Let's get ready for an exciting year in 2011!
